Questions, questions

Scott Ott has the last word on the studio generals. Once you're done laughing, I have a couple of questions:

Who was the best "studio general?" (doesn't have to be an actual general)
Who was the worst "studio general?"
Who was the best embedded reporter?
What was the best embedded report? (i.e. one story/dispatch)
Who was the best non-embedded reporter?
What was the one single stupidest thing you heard someone say on TV or saw them say in print?

You can answer in the comments, my answers are below.

Who was the best "studio general?" Col. Bob Bevilacqua

Who was the worst "studio general?" Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf, the Bill Parcells of generals. You know that he knows his stuff, but he never shares his insights with you.

Who was the best embedded reporter? Bob Arnott (with Rick Leventhal as a close second).

What was the best embedded report? Brett Sadler's drive into Tikrit or Bob Arnot's 45 minute report from a firefight.

Who was the best non-embedded reporter? John Burns

What was the one single stupidest thing you heard someone say on TV or saw them say in print? Alex Witt asking Arnott stupid, inane questions while he was being shot at.

I see your point about Schwarzkopf but I would nominate Hackworth.

IMHO:

Who was the best "studio general?"

Gen. Wayne Downing [remote] Low key; very expert.

Major General [Retired] Burton Moore [studio]

[Maj. Jack Stradley and a few others are a close second.] Major Jack was at his best when trying to seduce Chris Jansing [the closest embodiment of Sailor Moon/anime female talking head]!

Colonel David Hunt is the best at impersonating Robert Conrad impersonating a military expert. [Hunt knows his stuff and is flame-worthy (like in flicking a Bic flame-worthy).

Who was the worst "studio general?

There are way too many to name!

Who was the best embedded reporter?

David Bloom [civialian (RIP)] (when he didn't let the MSNBC village idiots and news-whores get in his way.)] Rick Leventhal is a close second.

Oliver North [former military] is the best of the best, IMHO. [He's been there, done that!]

What was the best embedded report? (i.e. one story/dispatch)

It may sound trite; but the coverage [censored] of the combined rescue effort of PFC Jessica Lynch. OOHRAAH! [Kerry Sanders (Gulf War I and II) In-Country]

Mohammed Aldouri's "I love New York!"
[Out-Country]

Who was the best non-embedded reporter?

Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf (M.S.S.) Baghdad Bob gave us more comic relief than the Smothers Brothers!

What was the one single stupidest thing you heard someone say on TV or saw them say in print?

"We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons. Whether it is the fictition [sic] of duct tape or the fictition [sic] of orange alerts, we are against this war, Mr. Bush. Shame on you, Mr. Bush!”

--Michael Moore

Added questions:

Who's the best News Playmate and/or "Thigh Master?"

Laurie Dhue "rocks my World!"

Who's f*cking who behind the logo?

Chris Jansing is doing Jack Stradley. Alex Whit is doing Chris Jansing and Soledad O'Brien in a ménage à trois.

What is the one event that could have changed tele-journalism?

Dan Rather stepping on an anti-personnel mine in Gulf War I.

Which female tele-journalist has the widest ass?

Rita Cosby.

Which male tele-jouranlist is a Spinmeister Extraordinaire?

Jim Miklaszewski

I missed some of the tv coverage but I caught this one where the day after they surrounded the Baghdad hotel they went to a mosque in another part of town where they thought Hussein might be hiding. They approached in an open-top armored personell carrier and the embed was taping from within it and you could hear ping, ping, ping on the side of the carrier and occasionally thud on the side. It was obvious that they were in an exposed and vulnerable position; very scary. Had the enemy had one of those cheap RPG's at that moment and place, it might have been horrible.

Best embed - RICK LEVENTHAL
Best embed report - anything by RICK LEVENTHAL

Best Studio General: Major Jack Stradley. Don't get
to see enough of this man...no cable. From what I
have glimpsed, he's knowledgable and precise, not
a fool for tv glory. And damn, that country boy accent is too sexy.

Worst Studio General: General(fictional) Mildener from Late Night w/ Conan. He's funny as hell though.
