Pravda: 'USA's victory to make Russia take pro-american stand'

Alexander Gordeyev wrote an interesting analysis on the position of Russia towards the Bush administration an the United Nations - If the coalition forces win the Iraq War "the foreign policy of Russia will be characterized with continuing concessions for the American government. Of course, Russia will support the abolishment of the Security Council and of the United Nations Organizations. After that, Washington will wish to have its influence in Russia's Caucasus and Asia. the United States will make Russia break up and then move over to Muslim Iran." (source: Pravda)

abolish the security council? that seems as likely as China joining NATO. the US could withdraw from the UN but that would be counter productive.

Was this tongue-in-cheek (satire) or foot-in-mouth (just wrong)? "The United States will make Russia break up?" Not more than it has.

Other than humanitarian concerns like WHO I do not like the UN much, but at least people can meet there without taking an AK47 along. Some re-organization may be desirable (Libya chairing Human Rights commitee? Iraq offered Disarmament commitee?) but the General Assembly and Security Council would both have to sign it.
