Rally Against Illegal Aliens In Redondo Beach A Success [ Pics ]

A rally held in Redondo Beach at the Civic Center on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005 was a success and it's organizers, SaveOurState.org, reported a large increase in supporter turnout.

The protest and rally started at 8AM in a popular illegal alien day laborer pickup spot in Redondo Beach. Numerous attempts were made by employers to pick up the illegal day laborers, but they quickly left upon spotting the cameras and rally supporters. From there the rally moved on to the starting location at the Civic Center. Positive responses from those in the community far outweighed the negative and some joined the rally.

The protest was peaceful and there were no reports of violence or any problems throughout the day. Nearly 100 people showed up for the rally with more than 50 individuals showing their support on the corner at the apex of the rally. A small contingent of open border supporters -- consisting of four individuals -- showed up later in the day for a counter protest, but there were no reported clashes between the two groups.

Several notable people showed up to the rally including the Chairman of Save Our License, Mike Spence, Western Field Director for Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), Rick Oltman, talk show host, Terry Anderson, Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate, Walter Moore and State Assembly Candidate, Michael A. Jackson.

Illegal Day Laborers in Redondo Beach
"We are all just average folks who are tired of watching our communities turn into third world slums." said the head of SaveOurState.org on the website "Until more of us get off our butts and in the streets, we will continue to get what we have been getting, political whores who refuse to represent the will of the American people."

MadameButterfly, a user at the website, added "Today, you all showed the city of Redondo Beach, the beach community, and every person that is going to read about the rally in the paper that citizens, average people like us are seriously committed to ending illegal immigration. They're even willing to give up the better part of a Southern Californian Saturday to do it."

In addition to the successful rally, many signatures were gathered for a ballot measure that is being put forth to deny illegal aliens drivers licenses and government services. The measure is being put forth by California Republican Assembly and is being backed by Congressman Darrell Issa, who is well known for his backing of the successful signature drive for the recall of Governor Gray Davis. The measure requires nearly 600,000 signatures by February 21, 2005 to be put on the ballot.

I have NEVER been able to understand why the above ballot measure should even be necessary.

For those who have created the reason for this
I wonder what part of the concept

ILLEGAL

Do they fail to understand?

I hear ya Dan.

It is because of groups who play the race card. They are just hoping they can keep the charade up long enough that there are too many illegals in the country to actually do anything about.

In these overly PC times most politicians don't want to touch the issue either and just let it continue, even with the threats of terrorism and the costs we incur for the health and education for those who aren't contributing to the system.

There are already laws on the books, they just aren't being enforced.

Not to argue with the point of the article, but... I'm bothered by the assumption that every Hispanic in the third photo is an illegal alien. Isn't that tantamount to assuming every Black male in Watts is a gang member? The odds may be likely, but they aren't certain.

Well Gus if you went to Watts and went to a known gang hangout. It MIGHT be true that anyone individual pointed out would not be a gangmember but not that likely.

I suppose you support random airport searches of 90 year old greyheaded little scandavian ladies to avoid the HORRORS of doing searches on people similair to those who carry out terrorist attacks? ;-)

Actually, Dan, I do support random searches of little old Scandanavian ladies in airports, for one simple reason: If I were a terror organizer looking for my next operative, that's who I'd recruit. After all, who would suspect a little old Scandanavian lady of being a homicide bomber?

Posted by: gus3 [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 18, 2005 05:23 PM

Now that's just ridiculous. Fact of the matter is if it were people matching my description that were doing these things I would find no offense in being singled out. The only people who have a problem with this are people who are sympathetic to the terrorists.

Good luck trying to find a little old Scandanavian lady that would do such a horrendous thing. If it happened then it would make sense to screen them as well. Screening those who have not proven to be a threat in the past is ridiculous and takes away resources from a statistically more threatening set of people from a certain region.

Are we living in caveman times here before statistics were invented?

If there's a serial killer leaving staged atrocities for police to find I doubt you'd find white men in the area that were in their 30's being up in arms at being questioned since that is the general profile of a serial killer. Sure, there's exceptions, but when 99 times it's a white guy in his 30's and 1 time it was a black male in his 30's which are you going to be looking for first?

"Are we living in caveman times here before statistics were invented?" Perhaps not, but your open reliance on statistics will be just another advantage to those who would destroy us and our freedoms.

What a fine looking bunch of white people.

"It's time to get angry!" Like the laws of supply and demand gives a shit whether a bunch of fattened white people are angry or not.
