US Wants Multilateral Approach For N Korea

Report of the Wolfowitz trip are starting to come in ... this comes from UPI:

The United States is working closely with its Asia allies and partners to agree on a common, multilateral approach to North Korea, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz said Saturday.

"This is not and cannot be a bilateral issue, as Pyongyang would like it, limited to a two-way dialogue between North Korea and the United States," he said. "It affects the whole region and requires a multilateral approach."

Wolfowitz said he believes a consensus is beginning to build that "it's the only way we will be able to resolve this problem peacefully ... by carefully managing a multilateral approach to Pyongyang."

Heres hopping the idea of international consensus to 'contain' the DPRK does not spin into international insanity!

At times, that is all anyone can ask.

Although, there have been encouraging signs; notably the Chinese have decided not to discount our current Administration and Bush seemed to have a great time in St. Petersburg. My god! Who wouldn't? I've never seen anything like it!
