US Won't Have Two-Way Talks With NK

Korean Ambassador to the United States Han Sung-joo yesterday excluded the possibility of the United States engaging North Korea in bilateral dialogue aimed at resolving the Stalinist country’s nuclear brinkmanship.

``The U.S. finds it not easy to talk only with the North, because Pyongyang’s nuclear program involves not only Washington but also South Korea and Japan,’’ Han said on Pyonghwa Radio Station yesterday

Therefore, he said, it is inevitable to deal with the issue in a multilateral formula.

Well what is funny is that this is demonstrably untrue. If you follow any of the commentary from the administration, what isfgoing on is just a veneer of denial over the obvious fact that we are and will continue bilateral talks with N.K.

I disagree, talks imply some sort of negotiation or exchange of ideas. Its pretty clear that the US has issued a series of demands backed by a series of consequences up to and including a total blockade. Whats there to talk about? NK can't and wont be trusted to keep any promises.
