North Korea Possibly Aimed Laser at U.S. Aircraft in March
North Korea's military may have aimed a laser at a U.S. helicopter in March, a U.S. official said Tuesday, shortly after the North reaffirmed its decision to nullify an agreement to remain free of nuclear weapons. The aircraft's censors detected the unknown type of laser while it was flying near the heavily fortified frontier that divides the two Koreas, the U.S. military official said on condition of anonymity. No one was injured and no equipment was damaged in the incident.Posted by michele at May 13, 2003 07:04 AM Comments

Stomp their asses with tactical nukes! Posted by: Original Mark at May 13, 2003 03:15 PMImages of Kim Jong-Il saying: Maybe he got 'em! (Or maybe they're just Sea Bass) Orion Posted by: Orion at May 13, 2003 05:23 PMJesus - that's quite the breakthrough in LASER tech...Give it 10 years and people aren't going to be able to use much of anything against the US Military. Orion Posted by: Orion at May 13, 2003 05:28 PMFor the record the US has refused to include laser blinding weapons in weapons limitation treaties. Meaning we probably have them as well. Posted by: brian at May 13, 2003 05:29 PMDude, just start arming the SK DMZ boarder tour groups with laser pens. 100 boy scouts with 10$ blinding red dots flashing over the NK millitary guards aughta drive em nuts. Posted by: Ronin at May 14, 2003 01:54 PMI doubt the NK border guards are fazed by much. They are about the most crack troops on the planet.
