How Do You Spell "Mengele" in Korean?
From the BBC, via Josh at One Free Korea blog:
Now close your eyes real tight and repeat to yourself: "North Korea's regime isn't evil, they just have their own narrative..." over and over again, lest the political correctness police cite you for insufficient validation of other cultures and lifestyles. Or, if you're a sane individual, keep the pressure on America's Senate to pass the North Korean Human Rights Act. I'm not an American - but I can pressure my own political representatives to pass a similar law, and I will. Won't you join me? Posted by Winds of Change at July 28, 2004 03:01 PM | TrackBackComments
Actually, since Hangul as a syllabary is remarkably flexible, it should be possible to spell Mengele in Korean. Don't know their phonemic inventory, so maybe there's some stumbling blocks. Posted by: TBox
Posted by: DWC To me this certainly puts a lot into perspective. People get on us even after we convict and try the soliders in Abu Gharib. But then when it comes to dictators and torture people don't care unless Americans are behind it. Posted by: frankwolftown On a reflective note,
