Iran threatens to wipe Israel off map, again

JERUSALEM POST: Iran threatens to wipe Israel off map, again

Iran on Monday repeated its threat to "wipe Israel off the map" if Israel attacked the Islamic Republic's nuclear sites.

"The United States is showing off by threatening to use its wild dog, Israel," Revolutionary Guards Commander Seyed Masood Jazayeri was quoted as saying by the Iranian student news agency ISNA.

"They will not hesitate to strike Iran if they are capable of it. However, their threats to attack Iran's nuclear facilities cannot be realized. They are aware Tehran's reaction will be so harsh that Israel will be wiped off the face of the earth and US interests will be easily damaged," he warned.

If there's to be any map wiping, somehow I see Israel as the wiper, not the wipee...

When did Iran hire Bagdad Bob?

I think it ought to be rule that when someone uses the phrase "wild dogs" or "mad dogs" or "running dogs" -- pretty much any use of the canine -- they are automatically presumed to

a) to have lost the argument, and
b) to have revealed themselves to be powerless.

Kim Jong Il is another great one for dog imagery.

Hey now I use Running dogs all the time. It's my way of showing the very cosy relationship between the American left and the American media.

so yeah, running dogs of the left there's worse that being a running dog, hell you could be a wild dog. Like the wild dog of the democrats: Howard Dean

Skip (you imperialist running dog!),

:-)

I myself love "running dogs" -- it has such a mid 1950s, belligerent, paranoid, Chi-Com feel to it. Makes me feel nostalgic, kind of like looking at Lileks' site.

Dean though, is usually an "attack dog" or "pit bull". These terms seem a little more objective, not quite as pejorative as "running dogs". Almost used as a kind of compliment.

I get a kick out of Howard Dean. Love how his face gets all red. He is at least entertaining.

If I keep smoking cigars I won't be a running dog for too much longer.

And yeah, it does have a sort of ironic cold war ring to it. Like the "People's republic of whatever".

I have to admit, in retrospect, those commies said some pretty funny things.

Perhaps we could do something like Lileks' gallery of regrettable foods. So compendium of communist inspired stupid statement.

How about this? Socialism with a human face!! Yeah, like that'll ever happen.

Would be a great parody site -- Likekski. Picture a Russian blogger with all kind of nostalgic Cold War stuff on his site.

The Iranian censors have already "wiped" Israel off all maps of the region in bookstores and classrooms with censors' ink. So when IDF jets begin wiping the Iranian nuclear program off the planet, not just the maps, nobody in Iran will know where they came from since the phrase, "State of Israel" doesn't officially exist in Farsi.
