Israelis Plan for Event of Arafat's Death

AP: Israelis Plan for Event of Arafat's Death

After Yasser Arafat's death, Israel must ensure he is not buried in Jerusalem and take harsh measures to prevent militants from seizing control in the Palestinian territories, according to a new contingency plan obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press.

The document lays out Israel's best predictions about the consequences that may follow the death of the 75-year-old Palestinian leader.

Arafat, who has suffered from health problems in recent years, wields enormous power and has said little about who might succeed him — or where he should be buried.

I read the title and the first thing that crossed my mind was that Israel was going to declare the day a national holiday complete with partying and boozing to celebrate.

The second thing that crossed my mind was that Israel had immidiate plans for the very near future for Arafats death....

As for what happens when Arafat dies? depends on how he dies, if by violence then there will be rioting in the street, same ol same ol. If by natural causes then Israel will extend an olive branch to the next in charge, this will be rebuked, there will be suicide attacks to celebrate the ascension of the 'holy martyr' and ittle be back to bloody buisness as usual in the 'holy' lands.

Declared holiday or not, I'll be wearing my dancing shoes.

Easy solution to the burial problem: Plant a GPS locator in Arafat's next meal, launch NAVSTAR guided munition, watch Arafat explode upon impact via onboard cameras. If the warhead is sizeable, there won't be anything to bury.

Then, I shall dance.
