Israel Launches Strike
AP
Israeli attack helicopters fired missiles at a vehicle in the northern part of Gaza City on Tuesday, and witnesses said at least two people were killed.
The Israeli military had no immediate comment.
Smoke was seen rising from the Nasser neighborhood near a refugee camp. Israeli fighter planes were seen flying over Gaza City just after the attack.
The air strike came just hours after Israel's Security Cabinet decided to step up attacks against Hamas militants in Gaza, a security official said.
The decision was in response to a double homicide bombing on Sunday in the seaport of Ashdod, killing 10 Israelis. It was the first time in more than three years of fighting that Palestinian bombers managed to get out of Gaza to carry out an attack.

An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.
Maybe but what will Israel and Palestine do with all these blind and toothless people?

Is there not value in eliminating the higher level operatives of these organizations, or at least making them keep their heads down?
An eye for an eye would be for Israel to willy nilly go and kill 10 innocent Palestinians. They are not attempting to do that. They are going after known terrorists.

Is that why innocent Palestinian kids are killed every week?

Terrorists aim for civilians on purpose.
Terrorists hide behind their own civilians, hoping you will kill them.
The difference is simply ordinary, criminal, intent.
Anyone claiming not to understand that is guilty of lying to protect terrorists.
Period.

Tell me Jeff you seem to be well informed so tell me what weapons the Palestinians have against the Israely army, their tanks and their planes and their US support?
And despite what you say I am not in favor of terrorist attacks. Just trying to understand why a desperate people is resorting to such desperate measures.
And before that word is thrown at me no I am not antisemitic either. I know that these days if you dare to question Sharon's policies you are automatically denounced as antisemitic.
No the world is not black and white, just too many shades of grey.

Well for the most part From 1958-1973 the Israelis faced Soviet made tanks, aircraft, and arms. After turning most of what invaded into scraps of ornamental yard art, Arabs and palestinians have given up on that angle. Of course, since they now are on a cash and carry plan with their former-soviet arms merchants, they find suicide belts much more economical.
But that does not address the point, you so cleverly make, that Israel or perhaps the US is somehow responsible for Palistinians bringing children as shields with rocks as weapons to battle a well-equiped modern army.
Ah, yes, the "desparate measures" meme. Bullsh@t.
They kill Israelis for the same reason al-Qaeda has targeted us. They dont want any thing but for jews to die. The extermination of the Jewish state in now and always has been the goal of the PLO. It doesn't get any more anti-semitic than that.
Next we'll hear about how unfair it is that US troops have body armor while the poor arab freedom fighters in Iraq go without none. How cowardly and unfair...

Look Josh,
I don't doubt that there are some decent Palestinians out there who just want a decent life for their family. But right now, the majority are quite happy letting Arafat lead them down the path to death all the while telling them how the extermination of Israel is a attainable goal.
Meanwhile emperor Arafat is worth over a billion US... And when he does spend money, it seems to be for arms.
Compassion and understanding are noble virtues, but do not let them blind you to the reality of self determination.
You cannot sober a drunk if he is not ready to go clean.
If the Palestinians pulled a Hoffa on Arafat and ended the violence, I am convinced they would be the recipients of the largest outpouring of aid the world has seen. And I'd lay you even money the Israelis would be one of the first in line.

Damn, When I saw the Headline for this Post "Israel Launches Strike" I was hoping it was against Bushehr. Not just the daily tit-for-tat dance with the locals.
