Iran Quake Update/Relief Effort Information

For any and all information on the devastating earthquake in the ancient city of Bam (the death toll has risen to 20,000), please visit Iranian Truth weblog. There are constant news updates, donation information and links to other Iranian bloggers who are covering the quake.

Also check out ActivistChat. There, you can see beautiful pictures of Bam before the quake, as well as heartbreaking photos of the victims and ruins. Also visit the main page for links to updated news and donation information.

I hear the US sent aid and blood supplies to Iran.
I'm glad i've been sick and couldn't donate!

I have no love for the Iranian Gov't or the Hostage takers as individuals, but I can't see begruging The Average Ali in Iran aid. Even if the leaders (and many average folks) are so idiotic about Israel, they are still humans. Compassion is our strength.

I don't think we can blame the people of Iran for their govenment. My prayers for all those who have lost family in this disaster. From what I've heard, Americans and American aid is on the way to Iran. Godspeed to them and keep them safe.

I didnt see any of them morn our heros! All I saw were there cheers as they draged our dead!!!!!!!!!!

I would guess you didn't see them mourn our folks because they would have been shot for supporting Americans. There were a lot of goats in Iran back then but don't spite the sheep.

I would gather most of the folks killed don't even remember '79. Iran has a very large young population.
