Some Lights Back On In Syracuse

This comes from reader Doug Payton:

My folks in Ithaca NY have got the battery radio out, and have been picking up Syracuse radio. According to stations there, the lights are starting to come on in parts of Syracuse.

oddly I heard reports that it started at niagra mohawk at niagra falls outside buffalo but when I called my family that still lives in buffalo they hadnt lost power at all.

Niagra Mohawk got bought out by National Grid (UK)a few years ago. My sister in Fayetteville (SE of Syracuse) emailed me and didn't even mention the blackout so I don't think it affected that area.
