Putin: Russia Won't Give in to Terrorism

Good on ya Vlad. Yeah, I know we have had our differences, Russia needs to take a tough stand against the suicidal Islamofreaks. To Muslims, the Chechen conflict is the second front, after the Palestinian conflict. If the Russians show the Islamowhackos that suicide terrorism witll not get them anywhere, then that will be another nail in the coffin of the shadeed for virgins crowd. If Russia fails, the Islamowhackos win, and the terror tactics that brought them victory against the Russian Bear will eventually be used against the US and its western allies. Posted by: USF at July 7, 2003 01:56 PMmake that "shaheed"... Posted by: USF at July 7, 2003 01:57 PM.....unless they can come up with a darn good oil contract, Right, Vlad? Posted by: johnnymozart at July 7, 2003 01:58 PMJohnnyMozart..... dude, don't even JOKE about that! F#@king too scary to imagine the consequences for the rest of us. The chechyen conflict may not make our western news everyday, but it sure is on the minds of the jihadi crowd every day. In the eyes of any present, would be, or future jihadi, any capitulation by the Russians will be reinforcement that terror works. The results of this will reverberate around the world for generations.... those people have loooooong memories. Hopefully, they have spilled too much Russian blood for any Russian leader to even contemplate a deal, and Putin did after all come to power with popular support after his campaign of overwhelming force against the Chechen jihadis. I wish him all the luck in stomping out the Islamist menace there. Posted by: USF at July 7, 2003 02:26 PMJoking aside, I agree with you, USF, but I have been unsatisfied with the Russian response to this; IN ADDITION to the questionable deals/contracts with Saddam Hussein. My concern is that both us and the Russians and we have double standards when it comes to standards. We set our own rules and we then set different rules for the Israelis. And the Russians. Heck, we've criticized the Russians for Chechnya!! It seems its even worse with the Russians. The Chechens are bad, the Baathists are not. etc etc etc etc We need to put on our game faces for the Islamofascists, guys. Present a unified front. Currently we're not doing that. And they know it. Posted by: johnnymozart at July 7, 2003 04:07 PMdouble standards when it comes to terrorism.... ugh...sorry Posted by: johnnymozart at July 7, 2003 04:11 PMJohnnymozart... Yes, I hear you. Too many people do not understand the history of Islamic expansion and the level of hatred and suspicion that they have for the west. Back in the '80's I was one of the few that understood that one day, when the "mujihadeen" finished off the Russians in a "death of 1000 cuts," they would eventually turn round and bite us in the ass too, and I am not thrilled to see that prediction come true. We have made mistakes in the past, but as someone once said "He who has never failed somewhere, that man cannot be great." We live, we learn and we try not to repeat our mistakes. I'm also pretty pissed off at the way people criticize Israel. You are right, it's a prime example of double standards. No nation on earth would put up with the almost daily attacks that they have to endure, especially if, like the Israelis, they have the tools and ability to wipe out the adversaries that want to see the genocide of WW2 repeated all over again. I would really like to see the Israelis, errrm......, how should I put this... "less restrained' so they can deal more effectively with the terrorists that have openly declared their intentions are to drive Israel into the sea and the death of the Jews. ;)
Well, you saw what they did for about a week after Hamas opened their mouths, following the GWB/ Sharon/ Abbas meeting. Suddenly commandos aere all over the place and they were mopping up terrorists without any collateral damage. *aere = were Posted by: Seth at July 7, 2003 06:43 PMYup Seth, they spoke to the Islamofacists in the only language they appear to understand... by using force and humiliation. And Btw, JohnnyMozart, about the US criticism of the Russians in Chechnya... yes, I remember that too, and remember cringing while the words "shut the hell up" went around inside my head as the Clinton admistration was continually screwing thing up. You're SO right about the "United Front" So what if there are 1.2 billion (extremely divided) Muslims. The remaining 5 billion on this planet needs to unite and shove their jihad someplace haram where the sun does not shine. Posted by: USF at July 7, 2003 07:01 PMPost a comment
