Philippine rebels call ceasefire

From the BBC News:

Separatist Muslim rebels facing a military offensive by the government in the southern Philippines have declared a 10-day unilateral ceasefire.

The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) said the ceasefire would come into effect next Tuesday and urged the government to reciprocate.

The government has not officially responded to the ceasefire offer, but the southern military chief Major General Roy Kyamko rejected it as a "tactical move", the Associated Press news agency reported.
Here is the related report from the Manila Times.

Oh, so now they want a cease fire? I don't think so.. Wipe them out!

If they really wanted a cease fire, they could've declared an immediate ceasefire, and starte marching to the nearest military post to lay down their arms, rather than waiting till next Tuesday.

I don't believe the rebels are sincere too. They have blatantly violated ceasefires in the past, which is why the military is rather quick to dismiss such an offer.

i think tht we should give the rebels the benefit of the doubt. i think that they likely feel bad for any pain theyve caused and possibly did not recieve the "good enough" parenting that the psychologists stress as so important.

plus, i like their uniforms.

Screw 'em. Hunt them down like the angry beavers they are. Cease firing when the last one falls, sounds good.

Oh, absolutely we should honor their Tuesday cease fire!

Attack Monday.
