Jemaah Islamiyah Claims Jakarta Attack
Jemaah Islamiyah, a Southeast Asian terror group linked to Al Qaeda , purportedly claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was punishing Australia for supporting the war in Iraq. The statement was posted on an Internet site known for carrying extremist Islamic content, and its authenticity could not immediately be verified. "We decided to call Australia to account, which we consider one of the worst enemies of God, and God's religion of Islam," the statement said. "Here we were able to call it to account today in Jakarta, where one of the mujahedeen (holy warriors) was able to execute a martyrdom operation with a car bomb in front of the embassy."

So this bombing is for Australia's participation in the war in Iraq. What was the Bali bombing about then?

Time for the Australians to wake up and smell the napalm. The Islamic jihad is not directed at them because of what they do, it is directed at them because of who they are, and for what they are not (Muslims).

I have to think that with Australia's upcoming elections and the very vocal "I'll pull our troops out by Christmas" opposition, this is good motivation for an attack on Aussie's interest .. no different from the strategy in Spain.
