Morocco is Europe's biggest terrorist threat, Spain's judge Garzon says
SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE: Morocco is Europe's biggest terrorist threat, Spain's judge Garzon says
Morocco – home to most of the suspects in the Madrid train bombing – is teeming with some 100 al-Qaeda-linked cells that are capable of suicide attacks and pose Europe's biggest terrorist threat, Spain's leading anti-terrorism judge testified Thursday.
Each cell has five to 10 members, "so we are talking about 900 to 1,000 people who could be sought by police now in Morocco," Judge Baltasar Garzon told lawmakers investigating the March 11 attacks, which killed 190 people. Garzon cited police and intelligence data.
"In my opinion it is the gravest problem Europe faces today with this kind of terrorism," Garzon said, noting that many of those groups are in northern Morocco, with members who speak perfect Spanish and are able to slip easily in and out of Spain. The two countries are just a short ferry ride away from each other across the Strait of Gibraltar.

It can't be. We are presently in the process of negotiating and approving a far-ranging Free Trade agreement with Morocco.

Don,
1000 Radical Killers out of Millions.... sounds like the U.S. to me.
However, the Young and modern king in Morrocco is trying to change his country. I suspect they will eventually evolve into an Indonesia style democracy, if they have time, and if we support them.
FREE TRADE will help the moderates dramatically and accelerate the change.
Remember... they have been hit at Casablanca as Indonesia was hit at Bali.
Indonesia's recent presidential election saw the Killer's candidate, (Hamzdah Haz) receive less than 4% of the vote.
In Iraq and everywhere else they have had a choice, Radicals have NOT YET won. That is WHY they are fighting SO HARD against FREEDOM in Iraq.
Free voter's choice dooms the Islamists and they know it. Free trade is part of that, so this agreement is good for Morrocco and the world's safety.

leaddog, I'm surprised at you. Don threw out a baited hook. As usual.
Nothing anybody does can possibly be acceptable to this guy, so why even respond.
you make good points but we get deflected from the issue at hand.
yes free trade will help. But if this is Europe's problem, any ideas what else the euronals will do? Look how long it took them to deal with Bosnia.
I'm personally not confident that the europeans have the chi chi bongas to face a threat head on.

Fact: Spain sez Morocco is a big terrist problem.
Fact: We are negotiating a truly far-reaching free trade agreement with Morocco.
With me so far?
If the first Fact is correct, then why are we negotiating with a Known Terrist Threat? We should be attacking it, yes?
Shouldn't you be writing Dubya and asking?

Don,
Then your position must be that you automatically claim that Free Trade DOES NOT help millions.
(Now to include Morocco)
(At last count, it was in the billions, but don't let FACTS bother you. You never have).
Your only other choice is to DELIBERATELY CONDEMN millions of people to die.
This is an "EITHER, OR" issue and there is NO In Between crap.
Oh, I forget... your last comment supports the Liberal Death wish which means NO to FREE TRADE!
NOT ME! I have a conscience.

Don's leaving out something big in his comment... it's not the Government that's the problem in Morocco, it's just some of the people that live there.
If the government of Morocco is going out of its way to support these Terrorists, then yes, Don would have a point... but he doesn't, so it doesn't matter.
