Breaking: South Korean Hostage Killed

al Jazeera TV is reporting that the South Korean man being held hostage by an Iraqi militant group has been killed.

More as we get it.

Update from Fox:
South Korean businessman held hostage in Iraq was beheaded Tuesday, in spite of promises of an extended deadline on his execution, according to Al-Jazeera television. The report couldn't immediately be confirmed, and Al-Jazeera declined to say how it got its information. The Arab television station said it would have more information at 1 p.m. EDT.

More here from AP

Update: Fox is reporting that Seoul has confirmed the death of Kim Sun-il.

BBC just ran it as breaking news. They also used the word "Murdered" which is unusual for them.

The Arab satellite TV network Al-Jazeera reported Tuesday that a South Korean kidnapped in Iraq had been beheaded.

The network said it had received a videotape indicating that 33-year-old Kim Sun-il had been executed.

Rich, probably because the victim wasn't American. I'm waiting to hear from apologists that this beheading was staged or a fraud.

At what point do other Arabs and Muslims stand up and express their embarassment and disgust with this kind of cowardly b.s.? Is there no sense of shame or morals in that society?

TL, what worries me is that all that silence is consent and approval....

TL, Mona B.
Go read some Iraqi blogs. Many Iraqis are just as outraged as we are at this kind of action.

My heart goes out to his family and loved ones...another innocent man, simply going about his business, murdered by a bunch of gutless turds...

He was abducted in Fallujah and the body was found between Baghdad and Fallujah...So why aren't we isolating Fallujah?

Posted by: bubba at June 22, 2004 04:45 PM

Fallujah is being set up as a honeypot. The idea is an ancient military tactic. Let the enemy get in easily. When they have gathered in sufficient numbers and when they feel "safe", that's when you bring the hammer down. It's coming, hang on for just a little longer. The Americans are watching the breadcrumbs (foot traffic, vehicles, SIGINT, etc.) that lead to the organizers. Eventually targets (e.g., "safe" houses) begin to emerge from the noise and that's when you see the precision strikes start to happen. The higher the perception of being safe, the more vulnerable they become.

I'm sure there are a few Iraqis that are disgusted by this. At least some of them are helping to form the new government. I'm talking about the silence and lack of shame on the part of muslims and arabs elsewhere, particularly here in the US.

I thought america was against censorship yet the post i left on this facist blog was deleted. I guess the true nature of the yankee occupiers is to see only what they wish to see.

The score is 3-0, three heads to none. Its time to fight violence with violence. Its the only way to get this enemies attention.

Iraqilover: Perhaps it was not what you said, but the way you said it. Try again with just a little bit more thought put into your comment.
