Palestinian Authority Condemns Yassin Killing

REUTERS: Palestinian Authority Condemns Yassin Killing

The Palestinian Authority condemned on Monday Israel's killing of the spiritual leader of the Hamas Islamic militant group, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin. "This is a crazy and very dangerous act. It opens the door wide to chaos. Yassin is known for his moderation and he was controlling Hamas and therefore this is a dangerous, cowardly act," said Prime Minister Ahmed Qurie.

Right. Watch out, now Hamas is really mad. Moderate Hamas? What, they will blow up your children, but theyll feel conflicted about it? Hah.

"Yassin is known for his moderation"

SNORT

Sorry, we're talking about people being splattered all over the landscape, but I couldn't help a disbelieving guffaw.

At least the old man is happy now with his 72 virgins.

He should send Arafat a postcard

"wish you were here"

Tough shit.

Live by the bomb, die by the bomb.

How's Hell, Yassin? Meeting all your suicide-bombing flunkies there?

OK, who wants to be next? bin Laden? Arafat?

..here we go....the only why to peace is someone must win;sad but true. The carnage is going to be unbelieveable...its war and war sucks..

Posted by: Rob..NC at March 22, 2004 04:58 AM

There should be no distinction between spiritual leaders and military leaders or political wings and military wings. All are legitimate military targets. Having certain people or groups immune from attack when they actively exhort the enemy to fight makes no sense at all.

My prediction is that the carnage wont be great. The Palestinian people respect strength and decisive action. The intensity of the intafada is the result of the Israeli retreat in Lebanon which revealed that Israel could be beaten. This attitude can only be changed by inflicting painful military setbacks.

I suspect Rantisi will be next. There should be no let up to eliminate and completely excoriate the human blocks to a just peace for both sides. Goooo IDF Go!

Rantisi? Yes, I can agree that Israel will go after him again. There are several key Hamas leaders in Syria. What about them?
