Maybe We Will Have A Tee

After noting below that we probably will never offer a Command Post t-shirt, and instead we'll primarily use Cafe Press for contest swag, I thought today: "Why not use the contest AS swag?"

So after getting some proper approval from the artist, I'm proud to say that we've created the Mr. Dic-Tater Head T-Shirt, based on this fine Photoshop entry by Snizzle. Why this entry? Mr. X's entry wasn't T-shirt compatible, and there were too many corporate logos on Fingers Hussein ... so I went with the third-place winner. Our logo on the front, Mr. Dic-Tater Head on the back (I was able to "dress up" the image; it looks good for a 3rd gen photo). Fitted and loose versions, available only through July, here.

The CP Post Exchange

For more than a year now people have asked us "when can we get some Command Post swag?" We've never created any because, frankly, we don't think anyone ever sells anything on blogs. Nonetheless, we keep promising to give something to contest winners, like Mr. X down below, so we decided to create a limited Cafe Press presence so we can give away products as awards, and so readers can buy something Command Post-branded if they so choose.

So today we announce the grand opening of the Command Post PX. We're going to take a bit different approach to the web-site product thing, though ... we're going to try to only offer more unique products (no T-shirts, I fear, unless we come up with some really outrageous ideas), and we're only going to offer items in limited runs.

So here's the first item: The Command Post Correspondent Travel Mug (semi-crappy Cafe Press rendering over there on the right). We know you hit the Post for news first thing in the morning ... now you can take us with you as you listen to NPR on the way to work. Here's the logo on the mug:

We'll also be sending a mug to Mr. X and Rollo Tomassi for their fine Photoshop entries ... so Mr. X and Rollo, I need you to email your mailing address to me at alan at command-post dot org.
