Iraq To Send Delegation to U.N.

AP:

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The new governing council — a U.S.-sanctioned first step toward democracy in postwar Iraq (news - web sites) — voted Monday to send a delegation to the U.N. Security Council. Violence against U.S. forces erupted again in the capital, with one soldier killed in a rocket-propelled grenade attack. roll over Iraq intelligence contretemps

Meanwhile, thousands of people — including Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds — attended a ceremony in honor of the possible successor to the long-deposed Iraqi throne, Sharif Ali bin Hussein, who greeted well-wishers at his palatial headquarters.

The occasion was Revolution Day, the 45th anniversary of a bloody coup in 1958 when nationalists killed King Faisal II, Iraq's last monarch, provoking years of political unrest. The day had been celebrated under Saddam Hussein (news - web sites), but Monday was the first time monarchists in Baghdad were able to gather to mourn the king's assassination.

I believe that is one of the steps to Iraq being accepted as a government by the world. So sounds like a good move to me, the sooner they govern theirselves the sooner out people can come home.

Yes, then the Axis of Weasel countries and their third world supporters can slip in some sort of dialogue referring to possible renewal of Saddam contracts they lost when we fired him, and somehow make these renewals a prerequisite to UN recognition of a new Iraqi government.
From what we've seen thusfar, that would be right up France's alley....

Soapy said, " believe that is one of the steps to Iraq being accepted as a government by the world."

That low standard may have changed with the recent unpleasantness.

You, the French, the Germans, the Russians, and the Chinese probably think it's a grand idea.

Sophia;
Iraq is a LONG ways away from being a member of the un.
I would think this is a step to being recognized as a country, with a developing government. and to be accepted as such

Realize Sophia, Isreal isn't even a UN member.
Also realize, the UN might not even be around much longer.
Koffi boy closed the union office, so they can't even have a new union executive soon, and if they go on strike, Koffi will have to type his own stuff soon, as well as make his own koffi, oops I mean coffee
