Breaking: US "Captures" #2 Man - The Ace Of Diamonds
MSNBC TV just cited an NBC report that US forces have the #2 most-wanted Iraqi official - did not catch the name - in custody. He was the chief of Saddam Hussein's personal security, and was the Ace of Diamonds. More as it develops.
UPDATE:Here's the name: ABID HAMID MAHMUD OOOOH YAHHHHHH. Posted by: Dave Dubé at June 18, 2003 11:14 AM
That's who... according to this: http://www.defenselink.mil/news/Apr2003/pipc10042003.html Posted by: Andy at June 18, 2003 11:20 AMAbid Hamid Mahmud Posted by: TBox at June 18, 2003 11:22 AMI was even two minutes later. You'd think I'd refresh before posting something that obvious. Posted by: TBox at June 18, 2003 11:28 AMgreat news. Now we need to get #1-3 captured or verify their demise. Posted by: AWW at June 18, 2003 11:34 AMThats one of the advantages to this: This scum sucker can help us. Only one question now: Barney, or Teletubbies? Barney remixed to Metallica, of course. Posted by: TBox at June 18, 2003 11:51 AMHeck, I almost want to see that! How about a little 'IRON MAIDEN'? Posted by: Cap'n Snapp'em at June 18, 2003 11:59 AMLook just make them watch big brother it'll have them crawling up the walls within hours:-} Since this guy used to be head of Madas's security I suspect the other 3 aces won't be long now Posted by: Big E at June 18, 2003 12:02 PMBarry Manillow turned 54 yesterday. That and the Bette Midler stuff he did with her. Posted by: devils chewtoy at June 18, 2003 12:06 PMBig E - Big Brother and the Holding Company? In Iraq? Hookah jacks all around? LMAO. OKAY... Posted by: Dave Dubé at June 18, 2003 12:08 PMWell, according to another article I read about the arrest they found a ~$8 US cash, 400 mm Dinars and some other Euros and Pounds. Why not use these funds clear up the back pay issue? Or does the UN want us to hold so they can fund a study examing the migratory patterns of the Bolivian pocket mouse. Posted by: loco at June 18, 2003 12:22 PMThat should be $8 million USD. He he. Posted by: loco at June 18, 2003 12:23 PMloco! That $8US is a couple of porn video rentals. WTF? loco - Sorry. Make that 10,000,000 videos, and a Blockbuster franchise or two on the side, please. :o) Posted by: Dave Dubé at June 18, 2003 12:36 PMThe Bolivian Pocket Mouse might be one of the carriers of monkey pox; studying its migration patterns would help us contain the spread of said disease. Maybe. Posted by: TBox at June 18, 2003 01:14 PM80 French companies attended the Bagdad's commercial fair in November 2002, including some major companies. Says here he was captured:
http://www.debka.com/ Posted by: Bubba at June 18, 2003 01:36 PMIf anybody could lead us to the top cards this would be it. Heres to hoping he succumbs to the will of Barney and Metallica, Thomas the Tank engine lyrics would be too good for him. Posted by: Ronin at June 18, 2003 02:41 PMOh and for those of you still trying to formulate outside the square container: http://www.dear_raed.blogspot.com/ check out the latest musings from my man Salam, so glad i stuck up for him weeks ago. Dont know why CP doesnt link to his postings any more. Posted by: Ronin at June 18, 2003 02:57 PMRIGHT ON, Ronin! I check his blog every day, and I had already looked this AM, before he posted. THANKS! He sounds like one of the good guys! Nah.... Just find out what his favorite song is, then have Puff Daddy rap over it, record it and blast it at him for a day. He'll sing so loud and long, they'll call him Abid Tikriti al- Caruso. Posted by: Wolf at June 18, 2003 03:26 PMWell well well. This time the US has struck gold. Being less smart than the others captured, but at the same time more powerful, I'd bet this guy might sing to save his skin. I imagine the idiotic liberals, who have been using every opportunity they can in a despertae attempt to justify their antiUS view of the world, will soon be very, very quiet indeed. As for the two guys shot dead in Baghdad - unfortunate but necessary. There were about 300 of them , ex soldiers no less, complaining bitterly that they had not been paid. This sends a message - shut the fuck up and be patient, like everyone else. I don't think we'll be hearing from those guys again. Posted by: TedD at June 18, 2003 05:29 PMTechnically, this Ace Of Diamonds is the Ba'ath equivalent of Martin Bormann. He's probably a walking encyclopedia of A - Z intel on the defunct Saddam regime. If this turkey doesn't start singing like a canary in about 5 minutes flat, turn him over to the Kurds for interrogation. I guarantee he will sing (as one poster said) like Al Caruso. Elk Posted by: Elk at June 18, 2003 06:49 PMThe Iraqis (if that's who they were that got shot wanting their pay, were bogus. An official from the Iraqi military said they weren't owed anything. They were just stirring up sh--. Shoulda just paid'em all in lead. :0 Posted by: Jeff B at June 18, 2003 08:31 PMI hear the Egyptians are pretty good at interrogation. What's the name of the Israeli intel? Massoud? I hear those guys are well feared as interrogators, also. Just the threat of turning this chump over to either of these services should get him yappin. They just need to be careful not to let this puke die before they can get "the rest of the story". Inquiring minds want to know.:-) Posted by: Elvis at June 18, 2003 09:07 PMElvis: Mossad Intelligence Aman Military Intelligence Shabak(Sherut Bitachon K'lali) Shin Beth- Like the FBI Posted by: Wolf at June 19, 2003 12:04 AMI've read that Saddam was never seen without this man, that he was also Saddam's body guard - having been promoted up the ranks of bodyguards. Its been mentioned that perhaps the money found was used to pay the bounty to kill Americans. Why? Because if Saddam weren't alive and this man had access to that much money, he would have absconded with the money and wouldn't be bothering with leading the insurgency. It much nicer to be in Syria on the beach than running around the countryside trying to evade the American military. Posted by: Belle at June 19, 2003 02:06 AMHave you noticed that the media only announces the name and card of individuals arrested from the "Wanted List" of 55. They don't mention that this is #32. I am hoping that civilians are just as quietly making as much progress getting things back in working order in Iraq. Posted by: Belle at June 19, 2003 02:10 AMBelle? #32? The media has been reporting accurately (granted, for a change) that this is #4 according to CentCom: http://www.centcom.mil/Operations/Iraqi_Freedom/55MostWanted.htm Do you have a better/more updated list? Posted by: yank at June 19, 2003 05:07 AMhttp://www.doctorweevil.org/BaathDeck.html This is one of the best links to information about the poker deck, thanks to Dr. Weevil. Posted by: John Thacker at June 19, 2003 06:46 AMBelle, Did you mean the 32nd capture? I count 32, but then - I don't give a rip. That column I would call 'STATUS' on the CentCom list? Lookin' reeeally freakin' good right now. The gas lines in Baghdad are shorter than this. Posted by: Dave Dubé at June 19, 2003 07:27 AMLatest rumors are that Al-tikriti was asked by Saddam to let himself be captured. In this way he will sing but only to lead the "Americaners" into traps & dead end roads! Clever or WOT? Posted by: Onlynow at June 19, 2003 08:22 AMOnlynow - Yuppers. Onlynow. Yuppers. Clever. Who have you been listenin' to, here? BaghdadBob? Jeff B! How many clicks out is this guy? Posted by: Dave Dubé at June 19, 2003 09:03 AMU take it from me, Al Jeezrah's Dakay Dalne Waley one of their most respected journalist postulated as much. Al Tikriti knows Bagdad very well and has as many hiding places as Saddam. He could have easily slipped away, according to Al J' apperently coded instruction from Saddam have been found on him. He deliberately got caught with money to confuse us. We should bug him & then let him go and then follow him at a discrete distance. He's bound to call Saddam. Posted by: Onlynow at June 19, 2003 09:24 AMDave Dube said, "Jeff B! How many clicks out is this guy?" Shhhhhhh....quiet.....'click'...'click'...'click'.......................POP! Posted by: Jeff B at June 19, 2003 09:38 AMDdang, just winged him. Never expect a FNG to do the job right.........Wolf, you take over. Posted by: Jeff B at June 19, 2003 09:41 AMOnlynow - I would duck if I were you. Find some serious cover. Your story smells.... well ..... fishy, if you get my meanin'? We're doin' some serious DEEP fishin' here, and you brang nothin' but the lightweight shit. SHHHHHHHHHHHH. Put the Thuraya phone in your LEFT hand, dial 1-800-WOLF. WOLF! INCOMING! (call). Posted by: Cap'n Cap'em at June 19, 2003 09:51 AMHey, wot is this, R U guys trying to tell me something ! U are not trying to turn a fellow American away R U. What do U want to get me to say "Allah Ho Akbar"? I thought we Americans are a friendly lot, and I would not say that. Wake up and smell the coffee (I do drink tea ocassionally though) Would U not expect Al Tikriti Onlynow --- OKAY! Hand the Thuraya to Mahmud then. Like, Saddam is now goin' to be takin' calls from this guy... LMAO. Well, maybe we're talkin' 'embedded' here, but some of this spookthink is almost as good as Comical Ali... I'm sorry. I'm close to ROFLMAO with this one.... Posted by: Cap'n Cap'em at June 19, 2003 10:36 AMOnlyNow: Why do I detect, in your posts, the slightest trace of "Undercover Nobodywanttoknow?" Posted by: wolf at June 19, 2003 10:00 PMIf this is the case, I would like to give you, as a free gift, a brand new, still- in- the- box, top of the line MOSSAD BRAND DIGITAL CELLULAR PHONE Was that "Americaner", or "Amerikaner"? Posted by: wolf at June 19, 2003 10:04 PMfrom scott ritter's endgame, he was in effect like a chief of staff of saddam. orders came through him, he was the 'sole man who could act under presidential authority' and was instrumental in the concealment strategy of sadaams iraq, "During these first two days, however, I began receiving reports from our communications monitoring effort that indicated the SSO (Special Security Organization) was getting instructions from Presidential Secretary Abid Hamid Mahmoud to remove and destroy documents a a site prior to the arrival of the inspection," "the SSO had created delays until it [contraband material] had been safely withdrawn. Here at last was the concealment mechanism in full-blown operation, and the man directing it, we knew, was Iraqi presidential secretary Abdi Hamid Mahmoud" "Senior defectors had long talked about the immense secrets kept under Mahmoud's personal protection." "Abid Hamid Mahmoud, in his role as presidential secretary, is the most influential and powerful person after Saddam. Himself a former bodyguard, Abid Hamid Mahmoud serves as the gatekeeper to Saddam, through whom all others, including Saddam's sons and 'Ali Hassan al-Majid must pass. He alone is empowered to act on presidential authority. He is the second most powerful person in Iraq today." The only reason Uday and Qusay are above him on the list is because they have a specific last name. This CERTAINLY is quite a stroke of luck, if there are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq today, or if they have been moved out of the country, this man knows where they are. Posted by: zimxx at June 19, 2003 11:17 PMLike I said. zimxx -- thanks for a meaningful post -- one of the few in chain worth the electricity. Belle -- his presence in the country at this "late date" doesn't necessarily mean he chose to stay after we occupied -- with a safe house and time he may have very well decided to to chill until the seal relaxed (give our guys at the border a little credit, $8m cash is more than you can fit in the overhead). One salient point that hasn't been addressed above is that if this guy can lay low that close for this long others could too. Maybe we still have a chance to catch #'s 1-3. Posted by: john at June 20, 2003 12:20 AMNOW Saddam and the WMD's will be found.. Maybe. VF - I know what the 'F' stands for now - FRUITCAKE. Oh yah... I know who you are, and I know where you live... Oh yah... Posted by: Dave Dubé at June 20, 2003 07:34 AMIf Saddam & Sons are still alive and still in Iraq our guys will find them. I think your giving the damn hussein (what my daughter called the inbred bastard during Desert Storm, she was 3 at that time) too much credit. I think abid was either laying low until he could get the hell out of dodge or he was under the illusion that with all that money he could fund a return of the party. Hopelessly delude these little monkey's are. We will not stop; we will not falter until this job is done. Bet on it. Posted by: Theresa at June 20, 2003 09:36 AMVery Frigginstupid said, "NOW Saddam and the WMD's will be found.. Maybe. Let me try my terot cards here.......let's see...you are a young gay male that enjoys wearing women's undergarments while protesting for 'same sex marrages', living on a trust fund in San Francisco. Oh, but wait......it says after graduation from Evergreen College, you served in the Clinton administration until Hillary noticed how quickly you were wearing out the 'knees' in your slacks! Which lead to you and Hillary's 'cat fight' and you were fired when you filed sexual harrassment charges against President Clinton but agreed to drop the charges when Bill personally apologized to you and they offered you a job that requires you to badmouth the Bush Administration and your country. Amazed at the accuracy? Muchochos, U mark my words, the next few days will prove that General Al-Tikriti will provide Saddam Codes. No doubt his family will be well looked after. Do we know how the Americanners will interrogate him. Uhhhmmm. Onlynow? Onlyhow? I thought I told you to give the damned Thuraya phone to Mahmud! Can you hear me NOW? Posted by: Dave Dubé at June 20, 2003 05:55 PMAnd I STILL think that Only Now = Nobodywanttoknow Posted by: wolf at June 20, 2003 07:50 PMOnly Now = Nobodywanttoknow So many Americaner soldiers have been killed for the pretence of WMD, there are none there, (perhaps we could plant them there- oops more pretence). Is it perhaps the black stuff (don't forget that we use more than anybody else in the world) A good friend of mine got injured out there Onlynow I had to speak up. Not a single Americaner soldier would have died but for the pretence ...... Posted by: Onlynow at June 21, 2003 05:01 AMfeds say they have 32 of the 55. Anyone got a list? My count shows only 24.
