Possible Saddam Audiotape. Really.

A new audiotape that an Australian newspaper obtained in Baghdad on Monday is thought to contain a speech given by Saddam Hussein, calling on the Iraqis to wage a "secret" war against coalition forces occupying Iraq. The Sydney Morning Herald said it was handed the tape after those in possession of it failed to relay it to Arabic cable news network Al Jazeera.

The Herald said the tape would be available to U.S. authorities and Al Jazeera on Wednesday.

Interesting that the Sydney Morning Herald was considered a reasonable substitute for al-Jazeera. Not surprising, but interesting.
