Another Casualty of the War?
From the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) (no permalink yet) The civilian head of the United States army, Thomas White, has resigned.Posted By Alan E Brain at April 26, 2003 03:28 AM | TrackBack Yuppers. Right. Casualty... Bloodless bloodletting. Maybe he got asked to quietly leave. I think flexible and light with the best technology tells the story. That was pretty obvious after Turkey turned chicken... Posted by: Dave Dube at April 26, 2003 09:45 AMActually, this has been stirring for a long time. Sec. White fought to keep Paladin, using strategic leaks and statements to Congress. If there's one thing the Bush Administration, and especially Sec. Rumsfeld, values it's loyalty. Sec. White tried to bypass the chain of command. I'm surprised he's lasted this long. Methinks there was much jockeying behind the scenes. After the stellar performance of Special Forces without armor in Northern Iraq, I think Rumsfeld had enough ammunition to have White walk the plank.
