Iraqi Muhammad Hazmaq al-Zubaydi arrested
AP: DOHA, Qatar -Muhammad Hazmaq al-Zubaydi, who played a key role in the brutal suppression of the Shiite Muslim uprising of 1991, was arrested Monday in Iraq, the U.S. Central Command said.

Al-Zubaydi, a former member of the Iraqi Revolutionary Command Council and central Euphrates regional commander, was no. 18 on a list of the 55 most-wanted figures from Saddam Hussein's regime. Central Command have no details on his arrest.

Al-Zubaydi, a former prime minister and deputy prime minister, was one of the key figures in suppressing the Shiite uprising that followed Iraq's defeat in the 1991 Gulf War. He was featured in Iraqi news film kicking and beating captured Shiite rebels.

We all laughed at those cards when DoD released them... but it looks like they're having some effect. Somebody deserves a pat on the back for that.

I say the relatives of those killed Shiite rebels get the first kicks into this asshole's head.

Now that'll make some friends... But it might also discourage others from surrendering, so I guess this will just have to wait until it can be done much more quitely.
