Allied commanders to join Anzac services

From The Sunday Mail:

ALLIED senior commanders are expected to join Anzac Day ceremonies in the Gulf in recognition of Australia's contribution to the victory in Iraq.

US supreme commander General Tommy Franks and Britain's Air Marshal Brian Burridge have been invited to the dawn service in Qatar.

[...]

"We'll be having a short dawn service then a traditional gunfire breakfast, pretty basic," Brig. McNarn said. "If I can get my hands on some rum, we may just have a little nip in the coffee."

For our non-Australian readers, ANZAC day commemorates the landing of Australian and New Zealand Army Corps soldiers on the Gallipoli pennisula of Turkey on April 25, 1915 during World War I. During this campaign Australia suffered 26,000 casualties with 8,000 fatalities.
