Brazilian diplomat still loyal to Saddam
While even the even the Iraqi mission to the U.N. in New York has taken down Saddam's portrait, Reuters reports that a diplomat in Brazil is not yet ready to do so: The refusal by Iraq's charge d'affaires to Brazil to take down the picture of Saddam Hussein hanging in his living room is just a small part of his surreal existence these days. But the 54-year-old Iraqi diplomat, who served Saddam's government since 1976 on a career that took him to Geneva, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Brazil, will not take down Saddam's portrait in his large mansion in Brasilia.Posted By Martin Devon at April 18, 2003 01:32 AM | TrackBack The sun, surf, top flight soccer games, and beautiful women are a small comfort to this gentleman who is living rent free while he waits for his beloved leader to present himself back in the hellhole of the Middle East. With Brazil selling like 13% of Saddam's weapons to him, this diplomat is probably still getting invited to loads of wank dinner parties as well. Diplomacy--what a racket! Posted by: JDB at April 18, 2003 04:40 AMThis is kinda like those Japanese soldiers after WWII hiding out in caves and waiting for more war poop to hit their fan. That diplotwit needs to get a real job. Posted by: SSRIuser at April 18, 2003 07:19 AMPost a comment
