Search for Iraqi scientists likely to be difficult

AP>>

"It's a little ironic," said one U.N. inspector. "We could find them but they wouldn't talk. Now they might talk but who is going to find them?"

But Saddam's tight grip helped the U.N. teams in one important way - they could find the people they wanted to speak with.

Huh? Except for those people the Saddam hid. And then since all the interviews were bugged what difference did any of it make?

Hell -- we could advertise for 'em on Iraqi TV and mention that guaranteed Coalition protection for them and their families is part of the deal. (Plus whatever other inducements can be offered without crossing the line into outright bribery.) Get 'em to come to us.

A desperate attempt by the UN inspectors to spin. Should be paired with the "Marines broke the seals on the nuclear material" one.

Let's run that through the spin/BS filter...shall we?

Saddam's tight grip prevented U.N. inspectors from gaining any useful information from scientists whatsoever.

Hell, why not bribe them?

Hiring them is not bribery.

At some point, Kofi and the Weasels will complain that we killed Saddam, so now he can't be brought to trial before the International Court, which desperately needs legitimized.

Next thing to watch for: US Marine wanted for International War Crime tribunal for placing American flag on statue of Saddam.

The Hague has no power over the US... For the Hague would cease to exist afterwards..

EU, UN, Weasels, still shit, different piles..
