Al-Jazeera: "Americans Tried to Silence Us"
MSNBC Arabic translator reported that since the Al-Jazeera reporter died, they are claiming on air that it was an intentional US act to try to silence them, but they cannot be stopped from fearlessly reporting the truth to the Arab world. Now that reports indicate some sort of attack on the Palestine Hotel, MSNBC is speculating that the Iraqis intentionally targeted the hotel to inflame this reaction. This is ridiculous. While it should seem obvious that the U.S. would like to stop Al-Jazeera from broadcasting the images of the war that its does, in fact they have made accomodations to help them brodcast. We have embedded al-jazera reporters....Although I think it may be possible that we accidentataly hit them, I think its more likely that Iraq targeted them on purpose. There are hundereds of western media at the palestine hotel, I'm quite sure were not targeting it. Its a shame that Al-Jazeera who wants to be a non-biased news network and has the potential to be, wants to broadcast obvious lies to the whole arab world. Oh really, who is biased here? We did bomb their offices. We also bombed their offices in Afghanistan. We have only embedded one al-Jazeera reporter. There are Japanese newspapers with more reporters we have embedded. This may well be a mistake of war, but you are showing more of a bias than Al_Jazeera.
