Two Polish reporters missing south of Baghdad

Originally found this story via BBC News Online (April 7, 1547 entry). Reuters report provides more detail.

Iraqi forces detained two Polish journalists on Monday at a checkpoint in southern Iraq, according a colleague who was one of three to evade capture.

The missing journalists are Marcin Firlej of all-news channel TVN 24 and Jacek Kaczmarek of Polish public radio's first channel.

Firlej's colleague, Maciej Woroch, told TVN 24 the pair had been held by five or six armed Iraqis, some in uniform and some wearing black clothing, on the road between Kerbala and Najaf, south of Baghdad.

Woroch has enlisted the help of a group of US Marines in the search.

How many polish reporters does it take to drain a 12 volt car battery?

Willy K, you are an idiot. The Poles have supported the U.S. and sent troops, and you make fun of their missing reporters? Fuck you.

EASY BOYS!

I'm sure we'll be hearing from the major media how the U.S. military is to blame for this in some ridiculous way.

cBark... Relax.. It was a very tastless joke... People from PA just can't help it, its their genetics...

Now, once there was 2 Poles, 2 Iraqis, and a Frenchi... One Pole told the Iraqi...

See now, that would have been funny... Battery jokes aren't funny. Especially since we don't know if its still hooked up to the car, making it impossible to drain.

cBark. Bite me. Tasteless joke only...no offense to the pollocks in the crowd....even if you are a reporter. My gene pool is a bit more shallow than a kiddy pool in July.

You realize that the battery joke was refering to the torture device found earlier this week, right? Joking about allies getting tortured is always tasteless.

Posted by: cBark at April 7, 2003 01:46 PM

Of course I realize its the torture device... But so far the reports have been spared that, or at least they aren't talking about it just yet.

I hope the Poles are ok, journalists have really paid for covering this war, and its tragic to think we lost more.

cBark... yes it was tasteless. I agree. Sorry to offend you. I dont know about you, but a 12 volt on my nipples excites me.....

Posted by: Willy K in PA at April 7, 2003 01:51 PM

Nipples.. Personally I like it on the nutz...

Sticks and Stones may break my bones.. But chains, whips, gag balls, and hot wax excite me...

/Completely off topic.
