U.S. hits Kirkuk, gets fresh supplies

"U.S. B-52 bombers hit Iraqi positions near the strategic northern oil hub of Kirkuk on Thursday, people living in the nearby Kurd-controlled town of Chamchamal said. In nearby Kifrey, bombing forced Iraqi troops to retreat, ceding more territory to ethnic Kurdish fighters. Meanwhile, U.S. forces in the north were receiving their first shipments from convoys crossing into the region from Turkey."

"Iraqi forces drew back from Kifrey, some apparently leaving their front-line positions in such a hurry that they abandoned valuable supplies of ammunition and injectors containing the nerve gas antidote atropine."

You know, for a country that has no nerve gas or chemical weapons, they sure have a lot of atropine injectors.

(Hmm. Well, so do we, but that's because we believe THEY have them.)

You know, when you see a stable with a few dozen sacks of feed, a stall with fresh horseshit in it, a saddle and a variety of tack on the wall - it's not a far stretch to thinking there's got to be a horse around somewhere.
