Saddam International Airport being defended

Contrary to early reports of little resistance to the 3rd ID in its assault on Saddam International Airport, FoxNews is now reporting that elements of four Iraqi regular army divisions are defending the airport. No details on how effective that resistance has been.

Regulars? Expect lots of surrendering or lots of death for the Iraqis.

I think this is great. The more that are at the airport, the less that will be bunkers donw in Baghdad...

Kinda off the subject, but I thought I had read somewhere that Saddam doesn't like to be called "Saddam" and that it particularly irkes him that we've been doing so (esp. the Prezes). Is this place really Saddam Airport or does it have another official name? Just curious.

They found toenail clippers in a soldier's carry-on. You would be surprised how tough someone can be for $6.50 an hour.

Actually, it's "Hussein" that he doesn't like to be called. Saddam is his name and Hussein was his father's name. Technically, it's "Saddam, son of Hussein". And he didn't like his father.

His son, therefore, is Qusay Saddam.
