U.S. Says One Republican Guard Division Destroyed
From KTVU (story has been updated): Brig. Gen. Vincent Brooks said U.S. forces that crossed the Tigris River in the drive to Baghdad have destroyed one of the Guard's units -- known as the Baghdad Division. In a war briefing Wednesday, Brooks said U.S. forces seized the strategic town of Kut and routed the Guard division, which had been guarding the highway leading to Baghdad. SEMPER FI! Saw these Marines on Fox with Ollie North last night. Hard, all business. Total professionals. They've been in battle, they are confident, and they're ready to finish up and go home. Better get out of the way, Saddamites, these guys are Hell-bent on killing people and breaking stuff. Find something white to wave, my bet is your underwear isn't anymore. Posted by: Jeff Brokaw at April 2, 2003 11:09 AMIn retrospect, Peter Arnett is to blame for every additional death of the Republican Guard who might have surrender had they not been told by Pete that they were winning. How's your conscience, Pete? I wonder if there might be an IRAQI backlash against this liar? Posted by: BobbyV at April 2, 2003 12:18 PMPost a comment
