Pentagon Says Geraldo Rivera Will Be Removed From Iraq
NYTimes: ""At one point, he actually revealed the time of an attack prior to its occurrence," Lt. Mark Kitchens, a spokesman at Central Command, said yesterday morning. Lieutenant Kitchens added that Mr. Rivera had been escorted to Kuwait." Posted By Oliver Willis at April 1, 2003 06:40 AM | TrackBackComments
If the US can't figure out where I'm with Fred Barnes on this - If he so much as annoys a soldier he should be ejected. Good riddance. Posted by: Brian Chapin at April 1, 2003 07:19 AMI can't stand Whoreraldo but he was on Fox News Channel Live with the 101st Airborne within the last hour. The NY Times is yesterday's news. Posted by: McGruff at April 1, 2003 08:02 AMI don't get it? I JUST saw him again LIVE on Fox News. He still says he hasn't been expelled. Are there 2 Geraldos in Iraq? Maybe Saddam was wearing a black turtle neck and someone grabbed him thinking it was Geraldo. Hey, could happen. Posted by: telzey at April 1, 2003 08:54 AMNote - Geraldo is live on Fox News with the 101st in Iraq right now (9:06 ET). Posted by: HJR at April 1, 2003 09:07 AMThis is getting suspicious. I'm not a huge Geraldo fan. But, what are all these liberal outlets up to? Posted by: Reid at April 1, 2003 09:57 AMGeraldo is a NY lib, but he's a tough hawk. If he's giving away positions he should go, but I hope the stories aren't true. I love it when he describes the Fadayeen as "bastards" like he did the Taliban before. Here's a quote from Geraldo from the Afghanistan war - "The media is, I'm afraid to say, losing its nerve. And that malignant insecurity is already questioning a war effort that is scarcely three weeks old. You've all seen the melancholy reports over the last few days: Our bombing's not working. We're slaughtering civilians. Our allies, the so-called Northern Alliance, are all bluster, no belly. The Taliban is winning. Ramadan is coming. Winter is coming. Woe is us! I think it's time for the naysayers to heed the famous philosopher who said 'get over it.'" That's applicable to the current war as well. Believe me, the war can do a lot worse than Geraldo. All you have to do is watch General Katie Couric of the 101st Armchair Military Expert Division to understand that. Posted by: greg at April 1, 2003 10:12 AMHehe - yeah, Katie is starting to really become annoying. I think the salary raise went to her head. Looks like Geraldo is out though, apparently Fox was just trying to work a deal with the government. http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/04/01/sprj.irq.geraldo/index.html Posted by: telzey at April 1, 2003 10:42 AMHeard Sean Hannity on the radio a little while ago say that Geraldo is NOT out, that 9/11 caused him to change his ways, and Sean thinks he's doing a great job. Whatever. Posted by: Laura at April 1, 2003 04:42 PMPost a comment
