Troops battling Iraq's elite guards on the Red Line

I've seen that red line on TV. It's big and would take a while to get across. Hopefully the soldiers crossing have some cover, like red jackets or something. Why doesn't anyone ever say "elite 101st Airborne", "elite Marine Expiditionary Force", or "elite F-117 squadron"?
