Allies Bomb RG on Outskirts of Baghdad

CBS

The air assault on Iraq continued Friday, as American-led forces dropped 1,000-pound bombs on Republican Guard units guarding the gates to Baghdad and battled for control of the strategic city of Nasiriyah. President Bush forecast victory, but warned of “further sacrifice” ahead in the face of unexpectedly fierce fighting.

In anticipation of a push on Baghdad, F/A-18s attacked a Republican Guard fuel depot and missile facility south of the Iraqi capital, officials said. Hornets dropped 500-pound satellite-guided bombs on the fuel facility, while other planes hit the missile site with four, 1000-pound, bunker-penetrating bombs.

I was wondering when we were going to start attacking their supply lines. Good to see we're blowing up their fuel stations. How about eliminating their access to food and water? Make them mutiny against their officers.

A "mullett," also known as "hockey hair," or an "ape drape," is a universal hair-styling phenomenon characterized by medium length tresses that descend down the back of the wearer's neck.

Once a fairly common and rather expected mode of hair fashion, the mullett has come to be ridiculed, and associated with time warp victims of the early to late eighties. It has been also frequently adopted by classic rock enthusiasts, and good ol' "white trash."

Although not relative to any particular cultural group, the mullett has been a favorite of Southern and Midwestern Americans, Australians, and Canadians.

Not recommended.

It's all good. Great thing about this country is, you can say or think what's on your mind. You can even have a really bad hairstyle (props to The Historian & Cranky) and still get taken seriously if you know what you're talking about. If you know your stuff, and ain't just blowin' out yer piehole, people will listen and hopefully engage you in spirited debate.

BTW, I have since seen the error of my ways, and now sport a closed #7 blade all the way around, and even shorter on top.

FYI: I had intended to write "mullet," not "mullett" with two T's.

This later is a carry over from the archaic spelling once formalized throughout sixteenth-century Europe.
