President Reiterates That War Crimes Won't Be Excused
Bush: War crimes won't be excused: President George W. Bush on Friday said the United States expected the Iraqi regime to commit war crimes but warned that the administration would not excuse those carrying out atrocities.Posted By Robert Prather (The Mind Of Man) at March 28, 2003 07:33 PM | TrackBack Comments
Yes, by all means prosecute war crimes. Treat Iraqi generals whose subordinates commit individual crimes as the allies treated Yamashita after the War. The Japanese commander in the Phillipines was hanged largely because of the atrocities committed by his subordinates. Accept that prosecution of war crimes necessitates a war to the knife: war crimes trials follow unconditional surrender. Posted by: Lou Gots at March 28, 2003 10:29 PMPost a comment
