Missing Marines Identified

The Pentagon on March 28 identified eight U.S. Marines missing after fighting near An Nasiriyah on March 23. The Marines, officially listed as Duty Status Whereabouts Unknown, include Pfc. Tamario D. Burkett, 21, of Erie, N.Y.; Lance Cpl. Thomas A. Blair, 24, of Oklahoma (city not available); Cpl. Kemaphoom A. Chanawongse, 22, of Waterford, Conn.; Lance Cpl. Donald J. Cline, Jr., 21, of Washoe, Nev. Additionally, Pvt. Jonathan L. Gifford, 20, of Macon, Ill.; Pvt. Nolen R. Hutchings, 19, of Boiling Springs, S.C.; Lance Cpl. Patrick R. Nixon, 21, St. Louis, Mo.; and Lance Cpl. Michael J. Williams, 31, Arizona (city not available). All the Marines, except for Blair, were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Camp Lejeune, N.C. Blair was assigned to the 2nd Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, Marine Air Control Group-28, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Cherry Point, N.C. The Pentagon also changed the status of Marine Cpl. Evan T. James to killed in action from missing. The remains of James, who went missing while crossing the Saddam Canal on March 24, were recovered on March 25, the Pentagon said.

Heard a former Iraqi who came to america tell 60 minutes that most likely Saddam would take any POW to a location that is physically next to where he was located. I truly hope not.

God bless these kids, and keep in mind that they are only kids, they have made the ultimate sacrifice to free people that they have never even met. When this is all over I hope the people of Iraq realize some of the sacrifices our troops made for them........
