Vince Brooks told journalists that as every day passes, Iraqi forces are flagrantly violating international conventions against their own people and prisoners of war. He cited reports Iraqi paramilitaries had kidnapped children in Najaf and threatened to execute their fathers if the men refused to fight for Saddam Hussein. Some of the children were being used as human shields.
