A Different Enemy

From the Washington Post, via the ABC

"The enemy we're fighting is different from the one we'd war-gamed against," - Lieutenant-General William Wallace
Coalition Forces always use a "worst-case" OPFOR (Opposing Force ) to train against. Skilled, cunning, and ruthless. Truly dangerous. Not one that impotently attempts to drown us in their own blood.
"The attacks we're seeing are bizarre - technical vehicles with 50 calibres and every kind of weapon - charging tanks and Bradley (fighting vehicles),"
..
Iraqis are willing to launch suicide attacks against US forces, Lieutenant-General Wallace said. He noted intelligence reports that government loyalists have forcibly conscripted fighters by threatening their families.

"I'm appalled by the inhumanity of it all," he said.

What I am incensed with is the blatant favoritism towards Toyota of all these turd world goofniks when they purchase their technicals.

Somalia, Iraq, what gives? Surely the IMF (not the Impossible Mission Force, but the other IMF) could be instituting some sort of Dodge RAM 50, or Ford F-100 export program.

Sheesh.

plus you can fix them with old tin cans laying around the yard or whatever they have in the desert.

Could they please attack faster? And can't we offer some kind of airfare or travel reimbursement to their Palestinian and Syrian brothers (or, um, sisters) so they can get there faster, too. I mean, we've got other things to do, so hurry up already.

John,

That's a good point. In the end, isn't the overall idea to get as many fanatical Islamic nutcases dead as possible? If we can get them all to an "appropriate position" near the Marines I'm sure that the Marines will know *precisely* what to do with them.

Then all the other people in the region can live free of these thugs. Maybe a "safe zone" of passage from Saudi Arabia, Syria and Jordan to a "staging area." You know, about 20 miles from some Paladins.

love it.. nice to see a site of good people (kos atrios tacitus and yglesias are scary.. let's lose.. how evil is the us.. ugh)

what i don't understand... why don't these guys use better geaar? motorbikes and rpgs.. serious bitch to lead a ninja... can do some cool slashing attacks, and have a gunner on the back... maybe i watched fast and furiuos to often..

but really, where have motorbikes gone as weapons of war? they're fast, cheap, and small targets (armor's pretty light though)
