Saddam puts arms next to antiquities
Iraq is the site of Mesopotamia, where civilization began between the Tigris and the Euphrates, and Babylonia, one of the great ancient empires. Archeologists - concerned about the war harming some of its antiquities and historical sites - got the coalition to agree to be careful about bombing certain sites. However, Saddam has no such compunctions, and is deliberately placing military equipment next to treasured edifices. Posted By Judith (Kesher Talk) at March 28, 2003 12:11 AM | TrackBackComments
