Restore UN Funds to Iraq

Bush and Blair are demanding the release of UN funds from the oil-for-food program, which were suspended at the beginning of the war.

France, Germany, China, Russia, and North Korea are counting on that money to pay for weapons they already shipped to Iraq. That money will get released when Hell freezes over.

Oh, look who has a need for the UN all of a sudden? And all to fight a human aid crisis that was caused because they wouldn't abide by the UN in the first place. Classy.

Paine, I assure you Bush and Blair have no "need" for the carnival of vanities that is the UN. They do, however, have demands for what the UN holds that rightfully belongs to the Iraqi people. Do you get the distinction?

Convenient, isn't it, Paine, that the Oil-for-Food program is bigger than the UN budget.

Now why would they want to give that up?

The Iraqi people need the UN idiot, not the US. That money comes from the sale of IRAQI oil in exchange for food/water/medicine, but it's managed by the UN. Oil is still flowing from Iraq into Turkey, yet the UN (Russia and Syria in this case) are holding up releasing the money because they want to take their cut of it once they're out of Iraq's economic future forever. So who needs the UN? Iraq does, but once again, selfish, cowardly nations are unwilling to act. Who cares if they die, they're only arabs, right?

But of course the United Nazis earmarked the oil-for-food money for Saddam. The U.S. should suspend paying U.N. dues and use the funds to buy humanitarian supplies for Iraq.

The UN has outlived its usefulness. It's merely a means of weak countries to have a "say". Well, maybe if they stopped acting like cave men and started emulating the USofA they'd have more respect.

And furthermore, I think those pussies in Europe should put their money where their mouth is. The EU economy is now comparable in size to the US. What they should do is start a military build up until they are comparable to the US. Don't tell me the Germans don't know how to make good weapons...they make fine cars, they can make fine WMD's too. Then the EU will no longer need to rely on the US for its military capabilities.

If I were in a position to make such decisions, I'd just cut the losses forget it.

At this point, nothing can be gained by giving the UN any excuses to keep from facing its own irrelivance.
