Iraqi TV showing new footage of Saddam

FoxNews just showed black and white footage being broadcast on Iraqi TV featuring Saddam Hussein meeting with his advisors. No word on how old the tape was.

Down to black and white as the "Weekend at Bernies" Saddamis getting a little pale, and the ear just fell off...

Black and white? This might be from the 1950's

...does he have a mustache or peach fuzz?

That's pretty wierd, black and white. Why would it be in b&w?

Uh oh, they're running out of footage!

Hilarious!

Why does this remind me of the Monty Python dead parrot sketch?

------------

Owner: Oh yes, the, uh, the Norwegian Blue...What's,uh...What's wrong with it?

Mr. Praline: I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my lad. 'E's dead, that's what's wrong with it!

Owner: No, no, 'e's uh,...he's resting.

Mr. Praline: Look, matey, I know a dead parrot when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now.

Owner: No no he's not dead, he's, he's restin'! Remarkable bird, the Norwegian Blue, idn'it, ay? Beautiful plumage!

Mr. Praline: The plumage don't enter into it. It's stone dead.

Owner: Nononono, no, no! 'E's resting!

Mr. Praline: All right then, if he's restin', I'll wake him up! (shouting at the cage) 'Ello, Mister Polly Parrot! I've got a lovely fresh cuttle fish for you if you show...

(owner hits the cage)

Owner: There, he moved!

Mr. Praline: No, he didn't, that was you hitting the cage!

Owner: I never!!

Mr. Praline: Yes, you did!

Owner: I never, never did anything...

Mr. Praline: (yelling and hitting the cage repeatedly) 'ELLO POLLY!!!!! Testing! Testing! Testing! Testing! This is your nine o'clock alarm call!

(Takes parrot out of the cage and thumps its head on the counter. Throws it up in the air and watches it plummet to the floor.)

Mr. Praline: Now that's what I call a dead parrot.

Owner: No, no.....No, 'e's stunned!

Mr. Praline: STUNNED?!?

Owner: Yeah! You stunned him, just as he was wakin' up! Norwegian Blues stun easily, major.

Mr. Praline: Um...now look...now look, mate, I've definitely 'ad enough of this. That parrot is definitely deceased, and when I purchased it not 'alf an hour ago, you assured me that its total lack of movement was due to it bein' tired and shagged out following a prolonged squawk.

Owner: Well, he's...he's, ah...probably pining for the fjords.

-----------

Yeah, that's probably it. Saddam's pinin' for the fjords...

Looks like much of the tapes got destroyed in the blast . . .

Um, if it's so recent, do you really think SH would be in a room with a window and nice curtains? (Unless I'm mistaken, that's what I saw.)

Or maybe someone was so rattled that he pulled out the wrong tape? I know if I were hearing bombs going off round the clock, it would get on my nerves after a while.

It's a desperate call for help from the poor lads stuck inside the TV bunker.

I didn't know low lighting conditions made the recording be black & white. Unless this was some type of infrared camera.

It could be their color transmitter is off the air.

Yes B/W might be explained that Wacky Iraqi TVhas ...um..been "degraded".

Posted by: capsu78 at March 27, 2003 02:06 PM

My first thought was "that's not black and white, that's just crappy low light video" But the announcer seemed convinced it was black and white ("it says so right here in my notes!") so maybe it was.

Around a table, nice light fixture, curtained "window" although I couldn't tell if it was really a window or one of those fake ones like on a movie set or in a furniture gallery. Somebody in the room was snapping still photographs as you could see the flash going off often, but you could not see anyone with a camera (he was probably standing next to the guy holding the Sony Super 8 video camera)

Everyone seemed happy, I didn't here any sound, but they probably turned it down since us Americans wouldn't understand it any way :-(

I thought that Bush and Rummy looked a lot more stressed and haggard than Saddam did in the video, and we're on the side with air superiority.

Just my thoughts (with a money back guarantee, so save your receipts)

Is it possible to lip read this, to make sure he isn't talking about 1998 flour quotas....?
