Both Pakistan and India have spoke out against Operation Iraqi Freedom because "war is not the answer". So this is especially interesting from The Guardian:

"Bitter rivals India and Pakistan both test fired nuclear-capable missiles today, raising tensions on the subcontinent three days after 24 Hindus were murdered in the disputed region of Kashmir. "

I wonder how this might be spinned to somehow blame the US?

It's quite obvious, 'innit? Mind control rays from American sattelites are beaming down on the Indians and Pakistanis and are making a people who otherwise love peace to its very core core do nasty nasty things that only mongrel Americans do.

It's because America destabilized the region obviously!

scary. a nuclear war will make Iraqi freedom look like a skimish.

The argument was made, even before the war, "What would prevent India from launching a 'preemptive' attack on Pakistan?"

'Course, the answer is "Nothing, other than the prospect of Pakistani nuclear weapons going off." And that answer, of course, applied even BEFORE this war.

But expect it to be applied to us, again.

Sigh.

It's a good thing those nuclear-capable missiles are intended only for research purposes and the 24 Hindus were murdered by the CIA, or I might think India and Pakistan were involved in violence of some kind that might lead to war, which is so clearly not the answer.

Seems like both sides are subscribing to a variant of the proviso: "Put your faith in God, and your money in General Dynamics stock."

We've all heard of a headfake - usually used in basketball. I've seen it in the stock market. Tricking your opponent into thinking you're moving one way, only to move another.

Today. Pakistan. Testing a missle capable of a nuclear warhead. India. Testing a missle capable of a nuclear warhead. USA. Has anyone asked whether we have nuclear warheads near Iraq? Iraq. If I were Iraq, I'd have a nuclear weapon.

If any one of the four above are doing a headfake, then Nuclear will be the outcome of this war. And our nation will scrape up 200,000+ of our dead.

Will you continue to support war? No one wins in war - never. A very humbling pattern is emerging.

I would consider the elimination of Nazi Germany a "win" for the world.

Guys - Chill. Nobody is spinning this to blame the USA. If anything, Indian hawks are taunting their government (politicos) that if they had cojones a fraction of the Americans whose duty is to protect their citizen's lives then perhaps 70,000 Indians would'nt have died in the last 12 years.

If every government the world over had the committment the US shows for its citizens we would have fewer acts of terrorism.

Soft governments enbolden terrorists and not vice-versa.
