Iraqi Trade Minister speaks...
The Iraqi Information minister is on CNN now. Following typical Zionist/Colonial preface... He is making clear that Iraq does not need humanitarian aid - they have 21 billion dollars in the bank and want to continue with the 'oil for food' program. They have bought food and now want it to be delivered to Iraq. As far as I can tell he is claiming that the US military is stopping humanitarian aid from entering Iraq. He is asking the UN to punish the US for stopping the humanitarian aid. At the same time he is assuring the people of Iraq that there is enough food for them even as he claims they need the food delivery. Hard to have it both ways. Rather brilliantly at this very moment CNN is showing food aid being offloaded in Kuwait live as the Information Minister speaks. Comments
hey they still have phones and dominoes delivers wtf is he bitching for.... Posted by: aby normal at March 25, 2003 03:38 AMtheir pride will be their downfall, why have they not blown bridges, do we have dams under control. franks is taking huge risks, i hope for the best Posted by: gb at March 25, 2003 03:45 AMFor hungry people, it doesn't matter how brilliant CNN is at counter-propaganda. NGO's ARE prevented from entering Iraq, THAT IS a fact. Posted by: Jean-Philippe Stijns at March 25, 2003 03:45 AMJust for fun, lets break down his 21 Billion for food shall we: Assume that Iraq has 6 million in population (I've heared Baghdad has 5 million, I'll throw another million for the rest of the country) They claim that they have set aside 21 Billion for food. Let's asume that that is supposed to last for one year. That means that each citizen of Iraq would get $3500 a year for food. If you look at it per day, that means each citizen gets about $9.60 a day per person. That's two supersized #1's at MacDonalds a day. If they are starving, it looks like we need to build more fast food joints in Iraq. Posted by: 1310nm at March 25, 2003 03:49 AMI guess CNN is still sore about being kicked out of Baghdad. Posted by: Michael Levy at March 25, 2003 03:52 AMI thought I read that Iraq had 22 million citizens. Which makes your example even more extreme. Posted by: pb at March 25, 2003 04:09 AM"each citizen of Iraq would get $3500 a year for food." Hey, that is more than we get in this house. Do you pay council tax out of that? How much is petrol in Iraq? TV licence? Road tax? Insurance? And they let you have an AK to protect yourself? Post a comment
