... Across the street, during a speech in The Oar House tavern, Gephardt continued to criticize the Republican, trickle-down economics reflected in Bush’s tax-cut policies.
Bush argues that tax cuts for wealthy Americans will spur investment and create jobs for lower income citizens.
"There’s only one problem with trickle-down economics," Gephardt said. "It takes 100 years to trickle down."
Dick's looking for tax relief for the bottom 50% of households, you know, the ones that are paying in less than 4% of ALL TAXES? Only democrats can answer the logical conumbrum "How do you give a tax cut to someone who doesn't pay any taxes to begin with?"
Rich is then defined as $36,000/year for a family of 4, because that's where the top 50% kicks in. Ask anyone making $50,000/year with 2 kids whether they feel "rich". Class war isn't for pussies, is it?
And if you think "trickle up" beats "trickle down" recall the last time a poor man gave you a job. People allowed to keep what they make are far more accomplished at stimulating the economy. The government creates nothing it doesn't first take from someone else. And it only serves the country and business but with the alacrity it gets out of the way.
