Couple Arrested in RI Voter Fraud
Rhode Island State Police charged a Massachusetts couple with voter fraud in East Providence.Detectives arrested Antonio Arruda and his wife, Aida Arruda, of Seekonk, on Saturday. They were each arraigned on a felony count of fraudulent voting. Bail was set at $1,000 personal recognizance.
An investigation determined that the Arrudas registered to vote in September’s Democratic primary in East Providence using the address of a Dunkin’ Donuts store on Taunton Avenue that they own. State police said the Arrudas have lived in Seekonk for the past 10 years and should have voted in Massachusetts.
