Bush | It's Official: Rice Tapped for Secretary of State - Updated
Condoleezza Rice will be nominated to lead U.S. diplomatic efforts during President Bush’s second term, replacing Colin Powell as secretary of state, FOX News has confirmed.

An official announcement from Bush himself was expected at 12:30 p.m. EST Tuesday.

Powell announced his resignation on Monday, saying he had never intended to stay more than one term but would stay on until a replacement was named.

Updates after the press conference

Update:

President Bush this afternoon officially nominated Condoleezza Rice, his national security adviser and a longtime confidante, to replace Colin Powell as secretary of state.

“During the last four years, I’ve relied on her counsel, benefited from her experience and relied on her sound and steady judgment,” Bush said in announcing the nomination Tuesday at the White House.

She perjured herself. Lied under oath. Think that will come out in the hearings? Covered up for Bush’s lack of attention to possible imminent attacks. Bush lackey!!!

Hope she sails right through. Bush deserves to have advisors of like mind. TCPers of high mind, what redeeming qualities does this twit have? Plus any evidence outside of Stanford Provost.

One thing for sure…President Daily Briefs takes on a whole new meaning.

The Christmas’s just keep on coming. The inflammable left cannot help but set itself on fire, repeatedly. Where the heck are the marshmellows!

Go ahead, bring out all the dirt on the valiant African-American woman.

Even if the dirt is real and relevant, politics will (again) show how one knife can cut two ways.

And, if the media overplays its hand, again, and again… well- you get the idea. At least you get it if you are a conservative- the liberals still think they won all the debates… and those Dan Rather memo’s…
