Bush | Students Arrested Protesting President Bush's Re-election

About 250 Bard College students protested the presidential election results on Friday claiming George Bush was not the legitimate winner.

The protesters marched from campus to the center of the Hudson Valley village of Red Hook and blocked traffic at by staging a 45-minute sit-in:

“George Bush is not our president, and we reject him as our president,” protester Gabe Rey-Goodlatt said. “He’s a non-elected president who stole the election again in 2004.”

Twelve students were charged with disorderly conduct after becoming confrontational with officers.

Blocking traffic can get you arrested period. Protesters in the past have been arrested for that exact reason.. Especially if they’re protesting without permit on certain properties say the city or private. They also can be arrested.

Is it Bard or Baird?

http://imdb.com/title/tt0105323/quotes

“Out of order, I show you out of order. You don’t know what out of order is, Mr. Trask. I’d show you, but I’m too old, I’m too tired, I’m too fuckin’ blind. If I were the man I was five years ago, I’d take a FLAMETHROWER to this place! Out of order? Who the hell do you think you’re talkin’ to? I’ve been around, you know? There was a time I could see. And I have seen. Boys like these, younger than these, their arms torn out, their legs ripped off. But there isn’t nothin’ like the sight of an amputated spirit. There is no prosthetic for that. You think you’re merely sending this splendid foot soldier back home to Oregon with his tail between his legs, but I say you are… executin’ his soul! And why? Because he’s not a Bairdman. Bairdmen. You hurt this boy, you’re gonna be Baird bums, the lot of ya. And Harry, Jimmy, Trent, wherever you are out there, FUCK YOU TOO! “

Given the anti-Semitism that’s becoming more common on campus, maybe the headline should read:

Terrorist Sympathizers Arrested for Blocking Traffic

Had this been the 2000 election, the students may have had a point. But in this election, it was so convincing a win that the students have no leg to stand on. Even the Democratic party conceds that the election was fair and that Bush won hands down. Bush didn’t STEAL the election, he won it.
