Michigan | West Michigan GOTV

Just arrived back from my county HQ. We prepared materials for all 100 poll challengers who will log republican voting, many with PDA’s that will be downloaded to Washington on an hourly basis. 4 students put up 400 Bush/Cheney signs along major roads, should be a heck of a sight in the morning. We are still getting light showers but supposed to clear up by noon. East side of state supposed to get rain all day (these same conditions existed when Engler squeeked out a victory in ‘90 after being 10-15 pts down in polls a couple days before election day). Time for shut eye, back at it in the morning.

I’m starting to think that the BC‘04 GOTV is a media myth.

On Thursday 10/28 I received 1 DNC call from “Jason.”

On Thursday 10/28 I received 0 GOP/W’04 calls.
On Friday, 10/29 I received 0 GOP/W’04 calls.
On Saturday 10/30 I received 0 GOP/W’04 calls
On Sunday 10/31 I received 0 GOP/W’04 calls.
On Monday 11/01 I received 0 GOP/W’04 calls.

I have recieved 1 GOP voter registration/absentee ballot/marriage ammendmant about 1 month ago.
I have received 1 DNC Kerry/Edwards campaign mailing about their positions.

Where is the 96/72 hour GOP GOTV effort?

In 2000, when I lived in heavily Republican Ottawa County, I received 2 calls from GWB on election day.
Now even though my current county has more democrats than does Ottawa County, I get nada.

I just got back from voting in Grand Rapids. I was there before the polls opened and since this is my first time voting, I didn’t have any expectations to the amount of people in line at 7am. The man next to me did though, he kept going on and on how many people were already in line. So far so good.
Quick question to anyone. Is it strange that they didn’t ask for my id nor my voter registration card?
