Colorado | Ready In Time?

The Denver Post writes about the last-ditch efforts in Colorado to have the polls ready for action:

According to a Denver Post analysis, registration duplicates - voters whose names appear more than once on the rolls - still could be as high as 68,000. Davidson’s office has forwarded those names to counties to consolidate their voter lists.

Counties such as Denver and Larimer cleared their duplicates by last week. But Jefferson County still was whittling down its list of 14,000 names listed twice.

“I don’t know if I’ll get them all done” by Tuesday, said Clerk Faye Griffin.

Prepare the lawyers!

People who register (and or vote) more than once should be put in jail. It is time for our government to levy jail time for people who seek to destroy our electoral processes. Never before in the history of our nation have so many been so willing to destroy our government for their partisan beliefs. We must insure that all citizens are taught civics in school and come out of that course with an appreciation that our voting process is sacred and not to be tampered with. An extra vote here or there? No big deal? It matters. That one party would encourage double or triple voting is disgusting. That, my folks, brands an entire political party as anti-American without a doubt. To those political hacks who object to this call, I say if the shoe fits…..

As you post your comment, please mind our simple comment policy: we welcome all perspectives, but require that comments be both civil and respectful. We also ask that you avoid the extensive use of profanity, racist terms (neither of which we consider civil or respectful), and other boorish language.

As a courtesy, we will first send you an email noting a violation so you understand the boundaries. This will occur only once, however, and should we ban you from our comment forums we expect that ban to be permanent.

We also will frown upon those who suggest that we ban other individuals for voicing unpopular opinions, should those opinions be voiced in a civil and respectful manner. The point of our comment threads is to provide a forum for spirited though civil and respectful discourse … it is not to provide a forum in which everyone will agree with your point of view.
